ABOUT ME:

Dr Andrew Gibbs is a Clinical Neuropsychologist based in Melbourne, with over 25 years experience, providing services Australia- wide. 

I have worked in general hospital, rehabilitation, psychiatric and community settings at Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist level, in both university and hospital affiliated services.

Dr Gibbs established Neuropsychology at the Statewide Neuropsychiatry Service based at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, a service dedicated to diagnosis, treatment and management of complex conditions of either medical, neurological or psychiatric disorder. 

Whilst in private practice, he continues to provide psychological care within the public hospital and community setting.

I have held elected positions within the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Neuropsychologists (Victorian) Section.

Experienced independent medico-legal opinion for civil and criminal matters in a range of jurisdictions.

I am a current Transport Accident Commission (Vic) and Worksafe (Vic) Independent Medical Asssessor, and have provided such assessment for over 15 years.  I also provide Joint Medical Assessments (TAC).

Research interests have included Dementia and HIV infection, Huntington’s Disease, Depression, Memory Disorders & Suggestibility, Test Development and Methods, and claims of Recovered Memory.  Current work concerns memory and suggestibility as well as test development.
